iNACOL surveys were conducted in 2006 and 2011 and have not been repeated since. The VISCED initiative was funded throughout 2011-12, but then ceased operations and has simply been left online as an archive that is not updated (http://www.virtualschoolsandcolleges.info/). The addition of this section to the Handbook of Research on K-12 Online and Blended Learning will provide authors an opportunity to update on a regular basis the practical examples and research focused on K-12 distance, online, and/or blended learning in their country as each new edition is released.
